Pasadena City Hall Wedding Photography :: Kim & Jay

It was a simple wedding… a bride, a groom, two witnesses, an officiant and of course a photographer. There was no stress, no timeline and no worries for the day. I think this is the first time I’ve ever been asked where the best location for the ceremony would be. We found a pretty spot, the officiant had them hold hands and the ceremony began. It was simple but beautiful. It was perfect for their day.

I’m so glad I got to be a part of Kim and Jay’s intimate ceremony. Kim picked the most beautiful location to get married and I had so much fun finding beautiful areas of the Pasadena City Hall. It was a wedding I will never forget…

Gigi :: OC Mommies Winner!

For the first time I gave away a session in a contest. OC Mommies contacted me to see if I was willing to give away a prize for a contest and I thought it would be fun to give a session and see who would win! I lucked out and got to shoot adorable little Gigi. She is 7 1/2 months old and this was her first photo shoot! She started off a little shy, wondering who I was and what that big thing was I kept putting in front of my face. But after a little while, she warmed up and was a blast to shoot! She has the most adorable crinkle nose when she does her really big smile!

It’s only cool to drool when you are a baby and have super cute sunglasses. =)

Love this spot at The Lab. I kept telling Natalie, Gigi’s mom, “we have to go to the glowing bushes”. At first I think she was confused but once we headed over there, it all made sense!

So sweet…

Everytime Gigi put her sunglasses on she would get a huge smile. I’m guessing she likes to be stylish!

Yep, standing by herself at 7 1/2 months! Maybe a little help from the wall, but still, pretty impressive!

Family Fun at the Beach!

I had the pleasure of meeting with Will, Lindsay, Grayson and Jackson on Sunday. I’ve known Lindsay for awhile, as she is my cousins cousin but I’ve never met her kids! Last time I saw her I’m pretty sure she was pregnant with her first child who is now three! Crazy how fast time goes by. They wanted more of a traditional look at the beach so we headed to Playa del Rey. FYI, don’t try to go towards Malibu on a Sunday afternoon… there’s a lot of traffic! =)

I’m always up for challenge and I have to say getting a one year old and three year old to both look at the camera is a challenge!

Anaheim Hills Family Fun Shoot!

Yesterday I met up with Kristi and family! We headed to the Oak Canyon Nature Trails which were gorgeous! I’ve never been there before but I’m pretty sure I will be heading back! I had so much fun exploring some of the trails and finding beautiful spots to shoot! Here are some of my favorites…

Home Sweet Almost Home #1:: The Loft!

Recently I’ve had a lot of people ask me where I’m living and where I’m going to live. Secret is out, I’ve been living in the parent’s guest house. As fun as it is to have free meals whenever I want, this has been a temporary home!

I’m so excited about my almost new home!!! When I was in Thailand, I won a loft in auction! It’s a perfect location… close to LA but still in Orange County and I will have space to meet clients and have an actual office. Although escrow isn’t closed yet, which means it not 100% for sure, the odds are looking in my favor that I will have it within a few months!

I went to visit the loft with my friend Kelly, who happens to be an amazing interior designer, to measure and start dreaming up ideas. It is brand new and pretty much a blank canvas. Here are a few shots of how the loft looks now.

From the kitchen, this is what you see. It will eventually be my bedroom to the left, living room center and my office to the right.

“Home Sweet Almost Home” is going to be an ongoing series updating on the decor and sharing some of Kelly’s decorating secrets. I’m decorating on a budget so I’m sure she will have some great tips on how to have an expensive look without spending a ton!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas filled with love and family! I’m so thankful for all I have been blessed with this year! I could seriously go on and on gushing about how amazing all my wedding couples were and how much I’ve enjoyed meeting new little ones and fun families. I’ve been lucky enough to travel to places I never thought I would see and to meet the raddest group of new friends! My family has been so supportive of all my crazy decisions and only had positive things to say. I really don’t know why I’ve been blessed with so much.

After being in Cambodia and Thailand I realize how much I have and how much more I need to be thankful. It’s so easy to forget that not all of the world has as much as we do. My goal for this coming year is to learn how to live a more simple, joyful life as the Cambodians do. I keep linking Bobby’s blog but I think he explains it better than I could… check out this post.

A blog without a photo is boring so here is my parent’s tree taken with my new lens!

The Raddest Photo Trip Ever :: Ruins of Angkor Wat

Yesterday was full of exploring the ruins at Angkor Wat! Have I mentioned how amazing this trip is?!? You should seriously get on Bobby’s list to go on his next trip!

This is one of the first temples we saw and my favorite shot!

The details that are still in the walls is pretty amazing. I love how they let us walk all over… you would think people would knock things over.

On the way back these adorable kids sold us food for the monkeys. I think the monkey on the left was having some attitude problems. =)

Who knew that monkeys like Shootsacs too! Seriously, THE BEST bag to have for traveling if you have multiple lenses!

There are lots of kids selling souvenirs at the ruins. This little girl sold me a fan so she let me take her picture.

Hannah took this shot and I happened to get in the way. =) She has a ton of talent and hopefully will be second shooting with me next year!

We headed back to the ruins right before the sunset.

This is Ta Prohm… amazing!!

Today we got up early for the sunrise and then I went back to sleep. =) I just got back from the market and we are going back to the ruins later this afternoon!

A Foggy Engagement :: Zac and Meredith

Today I met up with Zac and Meredith for their engagement shoot. It was a beautiful sunny day… except at the beach. There was so much fog you could barely see the ocean. There was a cool mystic, romantic look but we were all hoping for sunny skies. Here are a few from today and I will post more after we shoot again on Monday. Hopefully the sky will be clear!!
