Sneak Peek Overload!

I’ll admit it, I’ve been a very bad blogger but with it being the busiest time of year my main priority has been getting photos to my clients. I have been really good about posting sneak peeks on Facebook so, for those of you who don’t check my Facebook page, let me help you get caught up…

This past weekend I headed to the Salton Sea with Avalon and her mama and dad. SO many cool shots from this shoot!

The day after my brother’s wedding, I had the pleasure of shooting Sarina and Sam’s wedding…

One of the biggest events in the last month was my brother’s wedding! After many rain dances, the skies cleared and it was a great day!

In the middle of all the chaos of October I took a week off and went to St. Thomas. One of my favorite parts of the trip was chasing the iguanas. Yep, I’m serious. The beaches were amazing but the iguanas were so cool!

I met Jayden when he was just a week old!

My first shoot with Savannah, she was only 8 months! Now she is two and has a little brother on the way!

Giuliana started the marathon of newborns. How precious is she?!?

Alex and Brent were married in October!

Such a sweet family! I love seeing the kids grow! Luke is now two and hard to keep up with.

Gavin :: Newborn

Remember the First Contest Ever? Do you remember how crazy competitive it got? If not, trust me… it got competitive. In a good way, of course. Little Gavin, who wasn’t even born yet when the contest took place, has the biggest support system I’ve ever seen based on the number of votes he got. His mom and dad were determined to win and they had the family and friends to back them. He won with over 500 votes!

I couldn’t wait to meet the little contest winner and we scheduled his shoot when he was about a week old. He was sound asleep when I got there and was ready for his shoot. He woke up here and there but did a great job!

He looks like he is very serious about his sleeping.

Why are baby feet so intriguing? I really don’t know but I always have to get a few tiny feet shots.

His mommy, Jackie, kind of loves cheetah. Not sure if you can tell.

Presley :: Newborn

I was so excited to meet little Presley! For a change, I felt like I’d only being shooting “big” people and I was ready for a little one! She did a great job, sleeping for some and wanting to know what was going on at other times. I kind of love having a variety… some shots with eyes wide open and others peacefully sleeping.

Ethan :: Newborn

Ethan is a very special newborn! He is the first newborn from one of my past wedding couples! I shot his mommy and daddy’s wedding back in 2009. When Patricia told me she was pregnant I was so excited and when she wanted me to do the newborn photos I was even more excited!

Ethan was born the day before I left for Haiti so we had to wait until I got back for his shoot. He didn’t seem to mind since he pretty much slept through the entire shoot! He is such a good baby!

Patricia loved the cheetah chair back in 2009 that belongs to their neighbors. We did a lot of her bridal portraits in their beautiful home and they were nice enough to let us use the chair for a few shots of Ethan!

Peyton :: Newborn

Peyton was due later this month but decided she wanted to make her appearance in 2010. Not only did she want to be born in 2010, she also wanted a very special birthday… New Years Eve! She is still so tiny, at 13 days old, and so precious! When I first saw her in her crib, I just wanted to watch her sleep and then I remembered I was there to photograph her. =)

Of course, as soon as we got her ready for her photos, she was ready to be awake. She stayed awake for most of the shoot but she was pretty content just hanging out, letting me take her picture. Being the first girl, with 3 older brothers, pink and all things girly were a requirement for this shoot. I didn’t mind at all!

Big brother Logan! Logan and Peyton have the same age difference as my brother and me! I loved having an older brother so close to my age and I’m sure Peyton will too!

Logan loves his sister so much! I’ve never seen a little one so eager to hold and kiss their new sibling and so sad when they are taken away. It was the cutest thing!

Three older brothers will make for one protected little girl! =)

Jude :: Newborn

2011 started off perfectly with adorable little Jude. He was actually suppose to be born the day after his shoot but decided to come a few weeks early! When I first got there he was awake, alert and ready to show off his beautiful eyes. After a little while he wanted to sleep so badly but didn’t want to miss out on his photoshoot. =) Finally towards the end, he couldn’t fight sleep any longer and was out!

Jude has an older brother, Axel. He is almost two years old. I was so thankful my friend Katie was visiting from North Dakota and able to help out. She was Axel’s best friend by the time we had to leave! It was the cutest thing ever! He seriously would not let her go. I’m pretty sure Katie has an offer to be a nanny if she ever wants to move to CA! =)

The light was absolutely perfect in their home… a photographer’s dream! Here are a few of my favorites…

Tis’ the Season…

To get a card with a photo of my dogs! I know it is what everybody waits for all year. What will Richelle do with the dogs this year? Well, since the last of the cards were sent out on Tuesday I figure I will share this year’s Christmas card photo. Awhile back I shared the rejects. In the end I decided to go with a photo that shows more of my Sally and Trixie’s personality and wonderful, sunny California (btw, where has all that sunshine gone??).

This was taken on the loft patio in my classy lawn chair. =) Aren’t they cute?

I might as well make the a 2 for 1 type of blog. =) If you follow me on FACEBOOK you might have seen these already. Here is a little sneak peek of the last newborn of the year, Christian! He is 3 weeks old and has an adorable little sister, Ava! I’m excited to share more but for now, here’s a peek…

Genevieve :: Welcome to the World!

I always schedule newborn shoots ahead of time, about a week after the due date. I was watching little Genevieve’s mom’s facebook page to see when she would arrive. Genevieve decided she wanted to wait a few days after her due date to make her big arrival. I wasn’t sure if we would be able to make the scheduled Monday shoot but I got a text from Ann, Genevieve’s mom, on Saturday letting me know she was born that morning and to see if we were still on for Monday. I was super excited, as Genevieve is the youngest newborn I’ve met at a little over 48 hours! She was born at 6:16 AM Saturday July 31st, weighing 10 lbs. 2 ounces and already with a full head of hair!

When I got there she was sleeping, her entire shoot… she was sleeping and when I left… she was kind of sleeping but wanting a snack! This makes it so much easier! Newborn photos are usually better when they are asleep. If you have children, you know they make some funky faces when they are awake and just getting used to being here… and the camera captures them all. When they are sleeping, they look like little angels! =)

Here are a few that I loved from my time with Genevieve…

Out of the first five shots I took I got a little smile, sticking her tongue out, eyes open and a yawn! Seriously, it couldn’t have been an easier shoot… Genevieve made it so easy!

A sleepy little girl! It takes a lot of energy to be born!

Duncan :: 10 Days Old

I was so excited to meet Duncan last week! I teach skating with his mommy, Sara, and have seen her belly grow over the past 9 months. I couldn’t wait to see what he would look like! He was quite content in mom’s belly and decided to come a few days late. It was a fun shoot because I got to hold little Duncan too! He is so tiny and so wiggly! He’s already scooting himself around, not wanting to stay in his poses. Mom and dad are going to have their hands full as he gets older. =) Here are some of my favorites of little Duncan…

Welcome Micah!

Meet little Micah. He decided to come into this world a week early but judging by all of his hair, he was more than ready! Micah is very lucky to have two very loving and excited parents. Alex and Angelina, I’m so happy for you guys and your new family!
