Sneak Peek Overload!

I’ll admit it, I’ve been a very bad blogger but with it being the busiest time of year my main priority has been getting photos to my clients. I have been really good about posting sneak peeks on Facebook so, for those of you who don’t check my Facebook page, let me help you get caught up…

This past weekend I headed to the Salton Sea with Avalon and her mama and dad. SO many cool shots from this shoot!

One of the biggest events in the last month was my brother’s wedding! After many rain dances, the skies cleared and it was a great day!

In the middle of all the chaos of October I took a week off and went to St. Thomas. One of my favorite parts of the trip was chasing the iguanas. Yep, I’m serious. The beaches were amazing but the iguanas were so cool!

My first shoot with Savannah, she was only 8 months! Now she is two and has a little brother on the way!

Giuliana started the marathon of newborns. How precious is she?!?

Alex and Brent were married in October!

Such a sweet family! I love seeing the kids grow! Luke is now two and hard to keep up with.

Pasadena City Hall Wedding Photography :: Kim & Jay

It was a simple wedding… a bride, a groom, two witnesses, an officiant and of course a photographer. There was no stress, no timeline and no worries for the day. I think this is the first time I’ve ever been asked where the best location for the ceremony would be. We found a pretty spot, the officiant had them hold hands and the ceremony began. It was simple but beautiful. It was perfect for their day.

I’m so glad I got to be a part of Kim and Jay’s intimate ceremony. Kim picked the most beautiful location to get married and I had so much fun finding beautiful areas of the Pasadena City Hall. It was a wedding I will never forget…

Four Seasons Beverly Hills Wedding Photography :: Kasra & Susan

Last summer I was lucky enough to second shoot a gorgeous wedding at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. Unfortunetly, I never had time to blog about it… until now!

A week or so before the wedding I got a call from Chris Austin of White Haute Photography to see if I would second shoot. He normally shoots with his wife, Erinn, but she was not able to make it to this wedding. Luckily I had the day free and was able to fill in for Erinn! The wedding happened to be during Emmy weekend and they happened to have Sony and HBO events going on at the hotel. It was chaotic and fun all at the same time. I am a horrible celebrity spotter so I wasn’t sure who was who but I did see Tina Fey and was told LL Cool J, among other stars, were spotted! One career I know I could never do… paparazzi. I would seriously have to go up to people and ask them if they were famous. =)

Okay, back to the wedding! Karsa and Susan were the sweetest, most in love couple. Sometimes I just want to stop shooting and watch them interact. Their love for each other was so blatantly obvious, it pretty much made every one smile and cry all at the same time. The wedding itself was filled with gorgeous details, amazing food and some very enthusiastic and fun guests! I’ll be blogging the wedding in two parts. The first part is filled with getting ready shots, the first look and some portraits. Part two will be both ceremonies, reception and the AMAZING details! Be sure to check back!

Stunning…

I loved this necklace so much! It was from JCrew and I was told they sold out, but I had to have it! So, I went on Ebay that night and found one. =) Mine is black instead of gold but I love it! The Vera Wang bridesmaids dresses were gorgeous too!

Susan and her sister have such a sweet relationship…

First look. I love how you can see Kasra’s nervousness and excitement to see Susan.

They are so in love! Both were tearing up when they saw each other. One of the sweetest moments I’ve witnessed at a wedding.

Love the area in the front of the hotel! Actually, there wasn’t any area I didn’t love!

There were two ceremonies. First, the Persian ceremony followed by a traditional American ceremony. The food was spectacular! Before the Persian ceremony, they had tons of fresh fruit and delicious pastries!

One Shot :: Venice Beach Skate Park

This year I really want to take more time to just shoot for fun. I’m going to start a series called One Shot and throughout the year post one shot from my personal shooting adventures. Sometimes they may be awesome, sometimes they won’t but I think this will be a fun way to journal my year and share what else I’m doing besides shooting weddings and babies. =) (“shooting babies” always sounds weird to me but you know what I mean!)

This shot is from a recent trip to Venice Beach. Not that I know much about skateboarding, but some of the kids were pretty good! There were some little guys that were pretty impressive!

Twenty Ten {2010}

That was fast! How is 2010 almost over?? I feel like the year just started yet, when I was making the slideshow I realized I did ALOT this year! Between traveling, newborns, weddings, family and a few other shoots, I was busy! Maybe that is why it seems like the year went by so quickly.

With two trips already scheduled for 2011 and some weddings I’m super excited to shoot, including my brother’s (YAY!), I’m thinking this coming year will go by just as fast. I’m hoping to take a few more moments to rest, stop and enjoy the time but to be honest, I work better when I’m busy. =)

Last year I didn’t do an end of the year blog post because I was still recovering from jet lag so this year I thought I would make up for it. If I did a shoot with you in 2010, you are in the slideshow. Every single shoot has at least one photo, including my travels and a few personal projects… all in a 5 minute slideshow! I couldn’t leave anyone out. I couldn’t pick favorites because I really love all the people I got to work with last year. Oh, and if you see wedding photos without the names and date, those are from weddings I second shot. I was lucky to get to work with some very talented photographers this year!

Sunset Tower Hotel Wedding Photography

A few months back I got to second shoot a fabulous wedding at the Sunset Tower Hotel with Kevin Wynn. I’ve been so busy I haven’t been able to blog the full wedding but I wanted to share a few of my favorite shots. The fun of second shooting is looking for different shots. While the main shooter is taking the portraits or shots he has to get, I steal the bouquet and take a few extra shots, or I have a different angle for the ceremony, or I randomly capture a shot from the hotel while they are standing in the middle of Sunset Blvd. =)

While Kevin was with the bride, I got to hang out with Aaron, the groom, while he got ready. They have an adorable puppy who loves them very much…

The birde and groom aren’t totally in focus but the lady in the car driving by is… she looks very happy for them. =)

I hope everyone has an amazing time with family and friends this Christmas! I had so much fun buying gifts that give back and some other random, amazing gifts that I’m sure I’ll blog about it. =) Although I’m shooting a wedding the day after Christmas, I’m going to enjoy the next few days off, relaxing and spending time with family.

Chris & Elizabeth :: Lindley Scott House Wedding

I had so much fun with Chris and Elizabeth at their engagement shoot in San Diego. We walked all around Balboa Park and then headed down to the USS Midway. I learned so much about them and loved seeing their love. I was looking forward to their wedding day and felt more like a friend than their photographer. Seeing a couple become husband and wife and being able to capture those moments has to be one of the coolest things ever! I love that this is my job!

The wedding took place at the Lindley Scott House in Azusa. The ceremony takes place in the front yard under two old, beautiful trees. The grounds are amazing and it really is a perfect place for a wedding! The clouds held the rain and saved Elizabeth’s gorgeous silk dress from becoming a mess. Everything worked amazingly well!

Elizabeth got ready at her parent’s house. This skateboard happened to be in the backyard and was dying to be used for a shoe shot!

Both of the flower girls were in awe of Elizabeth.

Loved her dress! I tend to be a fabric snob so when she said it was silk, I fell in love. =)

I love that Elizabeth chose to wear her glasses. It’s what she is used to and I think she will love her photos even more because she looks like herself in the photos. A gorgeous bride!

Four Seasons Beverly Hills :: Sneak Peek!

I was lucky enough to second shoot for White Haute Photography at the beautiful Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. I really, really want to do a full post of the wedding but have a bunch of clients waiting for images and I can’t justify doing an entire wedding blog over getting client work done. So, for now, I leave you with this…

Between a gorgeous location and a couple SO adorably in love, it was hard to pick a few to share!

Ramsey and Stephanie :: Long Beach Wedding

I’m pretty sure almost every little girl dreams of a fairy tale wedding and that is exactly what Stephanie had… Cinderella carriage and all! I didn’t meet Ramsey and Stephanie until their wedding day since they live in Oregon but they were both super sweet and fun to work with. They were married at Uncle Tony’s backyard in a beautiful Long Beach neighborhood. I had actually been to Uncle Tony’s a few times before so I knew it was going to be a pretty wedding. See, my cousin is married to Stephanie’s cousin so technically, we are almost family! My second cousins were the flower girls, ring bearer and reception coordinator.

Here are a few of my favorites from Ramsey and Stephanie’s very special day!

Stephanie got ready in a nearby neighbor’s house. She was nice enough to let me explore and find places to take detail shots. Such a beautiful home and dress!

Ramsey and Stephanie decided to do a first look. After the ceremony they were able to greet their guests and enjoy the cocktail hour. We had all the wedding party and family shots done before the ceremony!
