I met Derek and Candice back in December when they were anxiously waiting for the arrival of little Cordelia. Well, she made her way into the world on Super Bowl Sunday! I met her on Monday when she was only 8 days old. I love that I can never predict how a newborn shoot will go. I remember when I did my first one I asked the mom when the baby’s nap time was. I just assumed they come out of the womb knowing their schedule. I’ve learned there is no schedule when they are first born and a big part of shooting newborns is having patience. Cordelia did a great job, staying wide awake so I could get some shots of her sparkling eyes, and then falling into a deep sleep so we could move her around like a little doll. Here are a few (okay more than a few) of my favorites!
So wide awake and ready for her photoshoot!

Starting to fall asleep but not quite yet!

So adorable… A little super model!

And she’s out! Could she be any cuter!

Love this little hat… and Etsy find!

A custom made Red Wings hat for little Cordelia!

She decided to wake up just a little bit for the special “on daddy’s arm” shot.

The stuffed monkey was a part of the maternity shoot so we had to pull it out for Cordelia’s shoot! So cute!

Only in California can you take a naked, newborn baby outside in February and have a beautiful ocean view!

The first child wanted to be in some shots too! =)

Love this one!

A proud dad and mom!

Derek and Candice, it was so nice meeting little Cordelia! She is such a cutie and I’m looking forward to being able to capture her smiles and her personality as she grows!
